Dear friends,

After the last round of Belgium restrictions, it is easy to become stressed out and exhausted, not only because of the workload, but also because we all probably have a lot of things on our minds. However, we have a busy month ahead helping our countries with all the preparations for the coming “virtual” Bazaar. There are many challenges this year but also many opportunities.

This is perhaps the time of the year when we think most about others. As November is the month of the NATO Charity Bazaar, it is a good time for reflection. The NIC as an Associate Member of the NCB has been invited to attend the General Assemblies. After having the opportunity to meet the NCB team and all the National Representatives, I have learned the “art of compromise and determination”. The 13 members of the Board, four of them also members of our Club, are working to find the best sources to help the 10 Belgian and 25 International Charities elected this year by the NRs. These charities need our support more than ever.

The members of this team of volunteers are using their talent to help those most in need. Small acts can have a ripple effect. That is how we can change the world. A person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, or because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt a real inspiration for others.

The biggest lesson for me this year has been to “keep going.” No obstacle should prevent us from achieving our goals.

Con cariño,

Loly
The NIC President
