Dear Friends of the NIC,

The longest day of the year or Summer Solstice is celebrated in many countries in June. It is the day when the Sun travels the longest path through the sky and marks the beginning of summer for us. Some countries celebrate it by making bonfires and jumping over them or swinging as high as possible on the village’s wooden swing. Lovers wander through the forest looking for a lucky fern flower said to bloom only on this night. These are a few of their traditions. What are the traditions of your country? What do you plan to celebrate in June?

With June, we also end another NIC Season and it’s time to say goodbye to some of our lovely members. The perfect opportunity to do this is at our last Coffee Morning titled “Farewell”, where we will review the year with a slideshow and share warm hearted words with each other. Please come and do let us know if YOU are moving this summer.

Have a wonderful summer ahead and enjoy it to the fullest!

Let the summer begin!

Love,

Gerly
