April showers bring May Flowers!

Don’t get too excited though – if there is one thing you can expect from Belgium it is consistent irregular rain 🙂 But don’t let that hold you back from experiencing another thing Belgium is famous for: FLOWERS. Every year at this time they invest so much time and effort into creating beautiful floral displays throughout the city.

Even if you aren’t a big fan of botany, the attention to detail and vibrancy of the colors (after a long grey winter) is not only pleasing to the eye but to the heart and soul. Invest in a light rain jacket, check out the “Activities’ section of this newsletter and go out and enjoy this beautiful Spring!

I am going to leave you with one final message, as we are transitioning from Winter to Spring, my time here in Brussels is coming to a close and a new chapter of life will begin for us in a few months. I have greatly enjoyed my time as the Vice President of the NIC not only for the friendships and experiences it has provided but also because it gave me a sense of purpose. To quote Mahatma Gandhi, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”.

If you are looking for a way to enrich your experience here in Brussels and support your fellow NIC members, please consider contacting me for a chat and or applying for this position 🙂

Happy Spring Friends!
